Antivirus Monitoring
Platinum Web Services, Inc.
provides antivirus software and monitoring detection. Every four hours
Platinum Web Services performs a check to see if definitions are updated.
Alerts are sent if definitions fall three days behind. Platinum Web
Services is also able to detect if antivirus software is already installed
for a majority of antivirus software packages.
Microsoft Patching
Platinum
Web Services, Inc. deploys all Microsof Security Patches once they have been
approved after thorough testing and research. When Microsoft publishes
their available patches, our Patch Management Team downloads the available
patches and installs them in a test environment and performs research on
technical groups and forums. Once we verify there are not any known
issues, we will schedule and deploy the patches to the clients site.
Microsoft Patch Assessments are scheduled weekly. The Data Center
compares the patches already deployed to the desktop with the patches
available from Microsoft. For the next five days, Platinum Web
Services will attempt to deploy the missing patches based on your configured
schedule.
Failed patch installs are reported to Platinum Web
Services Patch Doctor. Patch Doctor is an intelligent redeployment
engine. Patch Doctor will attempt to redeploy the failed patches based
on your scheduled patch deployment.
Spyware Scanning
Platinum
Web Services, Inc. deploys the use of Spybot Small Business Edition to augment other antimalware
software.
Anti Virus Scanning
Platinum Web Services, Inc. deploys the use of McAfee SaaS Endpoint
Protection, which includes an enterprise level firewall, browser protection
to help thwart malicious websites before you access them.
Temp File Removal
Platinum Web Services, Inc. performs weekly scheduled temp
file removal. If left unchecked these folders can grow and cause low
disk space errors or affect the paging file causing the computer to run
slow.
SMART Analysis
Platinum Web Services, Inc. is able to capture information provided
by S.M.A.R.T. hard drives. S.M.A.R.T. alerts are vendor specific and
usually report precursors to hardware failure.
Logical Disk Checks
Platinum Web Services, Inc. checks each logical disk on the desktop to
assure there is more than 200 free megabytes available.
Asset & Inventory Scans
Platinum Web Services, Inc. performs asset and inventory scans that are
scheduled to run weekly to capture hardware, software and operating system
settings from the desktop. This data is reported back to our Data
Center which will be included on your monthly report that we provide to you.
